Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company, provides integrated video security and access-control platforms. Avigilon Unity is the on-premises product family, while Avigilon Alta provides cloud-native video and access control; both are designed to help security teams monitor sites, receive analytic alerts, investigate incidents, control entry, and coordinate response. District security teams use these tools to monitor campuses and review incidents.
Doors, credentials, cameras, and incident information describe related parts of campus security. Facilities, safety, and IT teams coordinate locations, permissions, and response procedures across the deployed product family. A visitor transaction, physical-security event, and sensitive student case have different purposes and audiences. A shared platform still needs to preserve those distinctions in day-to-day administration.
Coordination matters before an incident as well as during it. Teams maintain locations, responder contacts, staff roles, access, and practice arrangements so information can support the intended response. Sensitive student cases, visitor transactions, and physical-security events need their own context even when related tools are available within a shared product family.
