SDLA Compliance Resource
Report Williams Uniform Complaints Quarterly
An implementation guide for summarizing Williams complaints on instructional materials, teacher vacancies or misassignments, and facilities each quarter and reporting them to the board and county superintendent.
In Plain Language: Under the Williams settlement, families and staff can file complaints about insufficient textbooks, teacher vacancies or misassignments, and unsafe or unclean facilities. Every quarter, the district must report a summary of the complaints received and how they were resolved, both to the county superintendent and to the board at a public meeting, even when there were none.
Why this matters
The quarterly report is how the county and the public see whether Williams conditions are being addressed. A missing 'zero complaints' report is still a compliance gap.
Joint ownership
District: UCP/Williams coordinator compiles; sites report complaints; the superintendent's office agendizes. County office: receives the report and sets the due date.
