Submit UPK Planning and Implementation Expenditure Report 7
Submit Report 7 for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 expenditures through the CDE UPK reporting process by November 30, 2026.
In Plain Language: Submit Report 7 for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 expenditures through the CDE UPK reporting process by November 30, 2026.
Why this matters
The report period, allocation and type of grant must match. UPK mixed-delivery and countywide grant schedules are not interchangeable with a district’s P&I reporting.
Primary ownership
Early-learning lead and grant accountant, with the authorized submitter
Required distinctions and controls
- CDE identifies Report 7’s exact period and due date. Use the correct 2021–22/2022–23 award records and expenditure categories.
- CDE distinguishes new submissions from revised reports that replace an earlier submission. Reconcile the complete revised report, not only the changed response.
- Do not treat the 2026 reporting date as the spending deadline. CDE lists June 30, 2028 for expenditure of these earlier P&I funds.
Recommended LEA workflow
- Identify covered awards, the Report 7 period, current reporting instructions and authorized submitter.
- Reconcile opening/cumulative balances and current-period spending to the grant ledgers.
- Validate expenditure categories, reporting contacts and all required responses with program/fiscal owners.
- Choose new or revised submission accurately and complete the authorized CDE report by November 30.
- Retain the exact report, confirmation and reconciliation; record the handoff for later reporting.
Evidence to retain
- Covered grant award records
- Period/cumulative expenditure reconciliation
- Reviewed reporting response
- New/revised submission decision
- CDE receipt
