Make CAASPP Student Score Reports Available Within 20 Working Days

A secure results-delivery process that starts from actual LEA receipt, accounts for summer release, provides meaningful language access, and documents family availability.

  • CAASPP
  • Assessment
Date(s)Within 20 working days after LEA receipt; when received after school ends, within 20 working days from the beginning of the next instructional year
Applies toParents/guardians of pupils receiving CAASPP Student Score Reports

In Plain Language: Track when each official SSR becomes available to the LEA, securely provide it through the approved family channel within the applicable 20-working-day clock, and offer interpretation/help.

Why this matters

A report sitting in TOMS or a portal is not meaningful delivery if the family is not notified or cannot access it. Summer results require a separate next-year clock and ownership handoff.

Primary ownership

Primary owner: LEA assessment coordinator with family communications/records. Partners: TOMS/CERS, SIS/portal, schools, registrar, translation/accessibility, technology support, and principals.

Operational workflow

  1. 1. Log SSR receipt/release by assessment and calculate the applicable working-day deadline.
  2. 2. Validate pupil, school, family contact, language, and portal/paper delivery route.
  3. 3. Publish securely and send a clear availability notice with access/help instructions.
  4. 4. Monitor failed messages, portal barriers, returned mail, transfers, and requests for accessible formats.
  5. 5. Retain delivery evidence and resolve corrections or questions.
