In Plain Language: Complete the CDE interim report for the 2022–23 LCRS cohort by June 30, 2027, using the current required fields and covered funding period.

Why this matters

Cohort deadlines differ. A general literacy annual report does not establish completion of this interim checkpoint.

Primary ownership

Literacy lead and grant accountant, with funded-site and data owners

Required distinctions and controls

  • CDE’s 2026 amendment summary identifies the 2022–23 cohort’s June 30, 2027 interim checkpoint.
  • Cohort 2 has a June 30, 2028 interim date and must not be assigned this 2027 deadline. Annual September reporting remains a separate collection.
  • Use amended grant and reporting instructions. Older FAQs may still label an earlier report as final; verify the current report type and scope before certification.

Recommended LEA workflow

  1. Confirm the cohort and funded-site roster against original and amended allocation records.
  2. Obtain the current CDE interim instructions and establish the report cutoff.
  3. Assemble expenditure, service/staffing, plan implementation and required pupil-outcome evidence.
  4. Reconcile reported amounts and metrics with annual reports and explain any differences.
  5. Have authorized owners review and submit by June 30; retain the report and receipt.

Evidence to retain

  • Original/amended cohort record
  • CDE interim instructions
  • Site and fiscal reconciliation
  • Required outcome evidence
  • Final interim report and receipt
