In Plain Language: Confirm eligibility, prepare Section 7002 property support and/or Section 7003 federally connected child survey/source-check data, complete all IAGS tasks, and ensure the authorized signature task changes the application to submitted status.

Why this matters

Impact Aid can replace local revenue lost because of federal presence. Eligibility and payment depend on precise, retained source records and a fully signed application—not merely starting the IAGS task.

Primary owner: Impact Aid coordinator/federal programs fiscal lead. Partners: superintendent/core user, enrollment/SIS, military and federal-property liaisons, special education, attendance, assessor/property records, legal, finance, school sites, families, and records custodian.

Operational workflow

  1. 1. Confirm FY2028 eligibility, program section, IAGS access, active UEI/SAM status, core user, and published deadline.
  2. 2. Build a source-control roster for federal property or federally connected pupils, including survey/source-check and special education evidence where applicable.
  3. 3. Reconcile counts, enrollment, ADA, property data, prior application, and internal approvals.
  4. 4. Complete every application and signature task; resolve portal validation and reviewer questions.
  5. 5. Verify submitted status and receipt by the applicable deadline; preserve the full application and source package.
