Submit Any Late FY2028 Impact Aid Application

The last federal filing opportunity for an otherwise eligible LEA, generally carrying a 10 percent payment penalty.

In Plain Language: If the regular deadline was missed, complete and sign the full application in IAGS by the published late deadline, accept the applicable penalty consequence, and preserve proof of submission.

Why this matters

Missing the late deadline eliminates the ordinary application path for the year, while a late filing generally reduces payment by 10 percent. “Application” or “Signature” status is not submitted.

Primary ownership

Primary owner: Impact Aid coordinator/federal programs fiscal lead. Partners: superintendent/core user, enrollment/SIS, military and federal-property liaisons, special education, attendance, assessor/property records, legal, finance, school sites, families, and records custodian.

Operational workflow

  1. 1. Confirm FY2028 eligibility, program section, IAGS access, active UEI/SAM status, core user, and published deadline.
  2. 2. Build a source-control roster for federal property or federally connected pupils, including survey/source-check and special education evidence where applicable.
  3. 3. Reconcile counts, enrollment, ADA, property data, prior application, and internal approvals.
  4. 4. Complete every application and signature task; resolve portal validation and reviewer questions.
  5. 5. Verify submitted status and receipt by the applicable deadline; preserve the full application and source package.
