In Plain Language: Reconcile the 2025–26 provider and off-site location inventory and complete the applicable CDE report for the July–September 2026 window.

Why this matters

A reporting cycle follows the program year it describes. The 2027 certification does not replace the prior-year 2026 report.

Primary ownership

Expanded-learning lead with contracts, providers, fiscal/data staff and the authorized certifier

Required distinctions and controls

  • CDE’s public portal identifies 2025–26 recipients and requests all third-party off-site providers and pupil access at each location. Its April 2026 update aligns the report window with July 1–September 30 expenditure reporting.
  • Use the reporting notice and live fields to establish the covered operating period. Check each actual off-site location, provider relationship and requested pupil count; vendor headquarters and contract capacity are not substitutes.
  • September 30, 2026 is now a historical deadline. Obtain CDE directions for unresolved late reporting or corrections; publication of this resource does not reopen the portal.

Recommended LEA workflow

  1. Identify the funding year, CDE notice, authorized access and exact reporting period.
  2. Crosswalk contracts to actual provider-operated off-site locations and obtain provider confirmations.
  3. Reconcile requested pupil-access data to program rosters and resolve omissions or duplication.
  4. Have a second reviewer check the state report against the inventory before certification.
  5. Retain the report, receipt and supporting reconciliation; document CDE-directed follow-up if unresolved after closure.

Evidence to retain

  • Reporting notice and year
  • Provider/location inventory
  • Pupil-access reconciliation
  • Reviewer and certifier approval
  • Submitted report and receipt
