In Plain Language: Administer the required PFT components during the statutory window using current directions, include eligible pupils across settings, and preserve an opportunity to complete missed components.

Why this matters

PFT participation is broader than PE-class enrollment. Weak roster controls can omit alternative-program pupils or misclassify disability, absence, or partial participation.

Primary ownership

Primary owner: LEA PFT coordinator. Handoff partners: site administrators, PE/adapted PE, teachers, special education/504, health, attendance, SIS/data, and families.

Operational workflow

  1. 1. Create the grade 5/7/9 roster across every school and instructional setting.
  2. 2. Review health, disability, accommodation, adapted administration, and staff/material readiness.
  3. 3. Administer and record each component under standardized procedures.
  4. 4. Monitor missing/partial records and schedule make-ups within the window.
  5. 5. Validate participation and issue individual results after completion.
