Publish the Title I Assessment Transparency Inventory by Grade

A public, grade-level map of every required state assessment and each districtwide assessment: subject, purpose, legal source, schedule, time, and result format.

In Plain Language: Make clear and accessible public information available for each required state assessment and each LEA-required districtwide assessment, organized by grade. Include subject, purpose, requirement source, and—where available—time, schedule, and result timing/format.

Why this matters

A test calendar alone does not tell families why an assessment exists, who requires it, how much time it takes, or what they will receive. The inventory also prevents local screeners and interim tests from being mislabeled as state mandates.

Joint ownership

Owner: Title I/federal programs with assessment lead. Partners: curriculum, EL, special education, communications/web, principals, privacy, and language access.

Operational workflow

  1. 1. Inventory assessments by grade, subject, population, and whether administration is statewide or districtwide.
  2. 2. For each, document purpose, requirement source, time, schedule, and results timing/format.
  3. 3. Publish in a clear, accessible, translated structure on the LEA site and school sites where practicable.
  4. 4. Assign an owner and review date; remove obsolete tests and update changed windows or purposes.
