In Plain Language: Provide the official result and an understandable explanation of overall and domain performance, current EL status, services, progress, and how results inform—but do not alone determine—reclassification.

Why this matters

Families need more than a score report portal link. They should know what the result means for instruction and what evidence the LEA will consider next.

Joint ownership

Owner: EL program coordinator. Partners: assessment, teacher, registrar/CALPADS, special education for alternate assessment, translator/interpreter, and family liaison.

Operational workflow

  1. 1. Validate student/result match, assessment type, domains, and current ELAS before release.
  2. 2. Prepare the official report plus plain-language interpretation in the required language/mode.
  3. 3. Explain strengths, needs, services, progress, reclassification criteria, and a contact for questions.
  4. 4. Document delivery and reconcile any data error before program changes.
