Designate and Activate the Annual PFT Coordinator
A readiness handoff that gives one accountable coordinator the access, training, roster, administration, results, and SARC responsibilities for the full PFT cycle.
In Plain Language: Submit or confirm the current coordinator designation, verify working access and contact information, and establish the local ownership map well before the February window.
Why this matters
A name on a form does not create readiness. The coordinator must connect grades 5, 7, and 9 enrollment, adapted participation, staff preparation, make-ups, individual results, privacy, and later SARC reporting.
Primary ownership
Primary owner: superintendent/charter designee’s PFT coordinator. Handoff partners: principals, PE/adapted PE, special education/504, data/SIS, assessment, communications, and SARC coordinator.
Operational workflow
- 1. Submit/confirm the designation and current contact information.
- 2. Verify system access, current CDE materials, statutory window, grades, and required components.
- 3. Name site owners and publish a responsibility calendar through results and SARC.
- 4. Train staff, validate rosters/access needs, and test the reporting workflow before February.
