Authority and scopeState grant closeout reporting condition for the named prior-year award

In Plain Language: Reconcile the applicable AMIM grant allocation and final expenditures and submit the final report through the AMIM portal by September 30, 2026.

Why this matters

A prior-year grant can still have a reporting deadline in this annual cycle. The closeout must keep the award year and required data components intact.

Primary ownership

Grant/program lead and business services, with the authorized CDE submitter

Required distinctions and controls

  • This older discretionary grant is separate from Proposition 28 AMS. Use the correct award, ledger and AMIM portal, not the AMS annual-report process.
  • The published date is retained as a historical 2026 requirement. It does not mean CDE has reopened the reporting system or approved a late filing.
  • If unresolved after the deadline, obtain the responsible CDE program office’s instructions for correction, late reporting and any unspent-fund recovery.

From the grant ledger to a submitted AMIM Discretionary Block Grant final report: the SDLA ITO workflow

Final fiscal and program components are reconciled to one allocation-specific ledger before the report is submitted. This SDLA ITO (Input, Transformation, Output) graphic shows how the award and reporting instructions, the allocation-specific ledger, and program and outcome data become the reconciled ledger, the outcome support, and the approved report with its receipt.

SDLA ITO: eleven steps from the award and reporting instructions, the allocation-specific ledger, and program and outcome data, through inventorying components, reconciling expenditures, validating measures, and approval, to the reconciled ledger, the outcome support, and the approved report with its receipt.
Read down each column, then move to the next: Input identifies what to collect; Transformation covers inventorying components, reconciling expenditures, validating measures, and approval; Output covers the reconciled ledger, the outcome support, and the approved report with its receipt. Submit by September 30, 2026; if it has passed, document CDE-directed correction follow-up.

Recommended LEA workflow

  1. Identify the exact award and current final-report instructions; inventory the required fiscal and program/outcome components.
  2. Reconcile eligible expenditures and remaining balances to the allocation-specific ledger.
  3. Validate program, participation or outcome measures with their responsible owners.
  4. Obtain program/fiscal approval and complete the required CDE report through the authorized route.
  5. Retain the submitted report and receipt, or document CDE-directed corrective follow-up when the original deadline has passed.

Evidence to retain

  • Award and reporting instructions
  • Final grant-ledger reconciliation
  • Program/outcome data support
  • Approved report and receipt
  • CDE correction/recovery correspondence
