A discontinued grades 3–12 foundational-reading intervention formerly combining adaptive software, teacher-led instruction, independent reading, assessment, and progress monitoring.
System 44 was HMH's intensive foundational-reading intervention for older struggling readers in grades 3–12. Adaptive software personalized instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and writing. Teacher-led lessons, independent reading, placement assessment, and implementation reporting worked together in a blended intervention model. HMH has integrated the System 44 scope and sequence into Read 180.
