Exploring Visual Design introduces the elements of art and principles of design through artwork, discussion, analysis, and studio experiences. Twelve chapters develop visual literacy and creative application through topics such as line, shape and form, color, space, texture, balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, and unity. The program is designed for middle-school electives and introductory high-school art courses.
