A New Chapter for the School Data Leadership Association Website
We have made significant improvements to the SDLA website to create a faster, clearer, and more useful experience for school data professionals. The work combines a modern technical foundation with refreshed content, improved organization, and a more consistent design across the site.
A Modern, More Reliable Platform
The site is being rebuilt on Joomla 6 with an updated YOOtheme and UIkit framework. This gives SDLA a stronger long-term foundation for security, performance, maintenance, and future growth while preserving the resources our community relies on.
Clearer Design and Better Accessibility
Articles and resource pages now use a more consistent visual system with clearer headings, improved spacing, responsive layouts, readable callouts, and stronger navigation cues. The result is content that is easier to scan and use on phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
Refreshed and Better-Organized Resources
We have cleaned up and reformatted a growing collection of guidance, standards, privacy materials, CALPADS resources, emergency-readiness information, and archival content. Improved categories, links, and page structures make important information easier to locate and understand.
More Useful Tools for Practitioners
SDLA's interactive utilities and Coding Solutions pages now have a unified, task-focused design. These improvements make tools for validation, test-data generation, code exploration, assessment, and data operations easier to recognize and use without changing their intended purpose.
The Work Continues
This is more than a visual refresh. It is a careful modernization of SDLA's digital home, designed to protect valuable historical material while making room for new tools and timely guidance. We will continue reviewing, improving, and expanding the site—and we welcome feedback from the school data leadership community as the work moves forward.
