To serve as part of the site level administrative team responsible for professional contacts with parents, students, teachers and community agencies.
Required Experience
At least two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
Required Credentials / Licenses / Certifications
Appropriate California Administration Credential.
Education Requirements
Master’s Degree required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out assignments related to the special needs of the particular school setting to which he/she is assigned.
- Provide for immediate and long-range student discipline plans.
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with individual parents, parent groups and advisory groups.
- Relieve teachers from their classes or duties as needed. Release personnel in cases of emergency.
- Identify the needs of pupils, teachers and parents in the planning of effective home-school relations.
- Act as administrator in charge in the absence of the principal.
- Assist with the enforcement of the laws relating to student attendance.
- Assist in the coordination of professional development that is in alignment with program needs.
- Process referrals, gather data, keep records and make reports as required.
- Maintain responsibility for student records, placement, scheduling and orientation, as assigned by principal.
- Provide leadership, supervision and assistance with student groups.
- Assist in the evaluation of student assessment data as it relates to appropriate student interventions.
- Organize and assist with campus supervision of students.
- Supervise and evaluate certificated and classified staff.
- Contact and work with community groups and organizations as appropriate to meet student needs.
- Contact and work with pupil personnel services and special education personnel.
- Assist in the implementation of District and State testing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of
- Curriculum at the level assigned.
- Data analysis.
- Behavioral intervention strategies.
Ability to
- Communicate effectively with staff members and the community.
- Maintain effective cooperative working relationships with students, teachers, parents, other staff and community members.
- Plan, organize, implement and evaluate all facets of an educational program.
- Interpret financial reports pertinent to program cost accounting.
