California’s Age-Appropriate Design Code Act
California’s Age-Appropriate Design Code Act (California AADC or the Act). Assembly Bill 2273, the California AADC furthers the goals of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The law goes into effect on July 1, 2024. The California AADC aims to regulate not only how children’s data is processed and managed, but more fundamentally, how children experience online products and services. The California AADC is a novel approach to protecting children online and will likely serve as an influential model in future legislation and regulation across the US.
