California English Language Development Standards (2012)

California English Language Development Standards: Kindergarten Through Grade 12 was developed by English Learner Support Division, California Department of Education.  

The California English Language Development Standards (2012) outline the language skills and competencies that English learners in California schools should develop across various grade levels. These standards provide guidance for educators to support English language learners in acquiring proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English, as well as in comprehending and producing academic content in English across different subjects. The document aims to ensure that English learners receive appropriate instruction and support to succeed academically and become proficient English speakers.
