Readable English is a reading intervention that adds visual pronunciation cues to English text. Students learn a visual marking system and practice decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension through structured lessons and converted text.
Pronunciation cues and structured practice provide evidence within a particular approach to reading. Literacy teams connect that activity with direct observation and performance on text outside the marked format. The useful history includes the support provided between measures. Student-support staff and teachers coordinate who reviews progress and who changes the instructional plan.
