We are looking into extracting more of our data from Infinite Campus and putting it into Illuminate. Does anyone else use these two systems, and have written any SQL or use another method to export their data from Infinite Campus to Illuminate?

Hi Jacob Are you talking about migrating assessment data, I'm assuming? Since Illuminate's SIS is being phased out, I'm guessing you aren't wanting to move student info data, but rather student assessment data, correct?

Moving data between assessment systems is extremely difficult, but I'd be interested in connecting with you over the phone to discuss the project, as the same process is of great interest to our members.

Chris, thank you so much for the response. I'm actually talking about Illuminate's DNA, not it's SIS, which relies on having extracts from the school's SIS, which are then imported into Illuminate on a regular basis, so that reports can be run on that data. Most of the extracts are actually not assessment data, but things like courses, gpas, transcripts, attendance, behavior, etc. We have several of these that we do already, but we are wanting to expand what we can do with the system.

But, the good news is that Illuminate has told me that they have some Infinite Campus SQL scripts already written, so I should be able to use those, or maybe just modify them a little to be able to do the extracts.

So one of the desired goals for this website/community was to elevate awareness of such scripts! Eventually, we can even create a "birds of a feather" group within this site for those who use both products (e.g. Infinite Campus SIS and Illuminate Assessment). Did you know there were 18 other districts using both? Barstow, Dublin, East Side High, Fallbrook Union, Grossmont, Hayward, Hesperia, McFarland, Moreno Valley, Palmdale, Piedmont, Ravenswood, Sacramento, San Jose, San Ramon, Sequoia Union, Silver Valley, and Valley Center-Pauma. Wouldn't it be great to get a rep from each school district and share out these scripts! That was the original design of this site! Let me know how I can help bring that about!

Thanks for the list of districts. I knew about 7 of those districts, and have been trying to reach out to them, and I am going to share with them about this site. I agree with you fully that the more scripts we can share with each other, the better off we all are. I have been doing a lot of development in Illuminate's BI Tool, and I'm happy to share some of what I created (after I remove specifically internal parts that only apply to our district), and I also have been creating various Infinite Campus queries, that I'm willing to share some of here as well. And I can share the IC to Illuminate scripts, after I get them (and get them working). Where is the best place to put these?

I created a "downloads" section to store those (Titlehttps://www.schooldataleadership.org/solutions/all-downloadable-files)

But I'm wondering as we grow, if it would make more sense to have a common GIT hub repository for all of these. That way we could update them, see the changelog, etc. I'm open to ideas. I suppose we could simply upload the first batch to the site, just to get the ball rolling and point others to the resource. Then, as we progress, find a more suitable home for all of the code snippets. Thanks a bunch Jacob! This makes my day!

I didn't see the upload option there?

And GIT hub might be cool in the future, but with so many different snippets, etc., I'm not sure how much value it would add, compared to the extra overhead, etc...

When you login to the site, you can view the "My dashboard" menu - One of the menu selections is "My Uploads" That's how you can upload files. It's still a bit cumbersome, but it works.

You can even select "Code Snippets" as the category, so it sorts into the correct folder.

Thanks! I will try that out.
